Last month, Jen and Ken got married on October 10, 2010.
Jen and Ken on Ten Ten Ten. (That totally rhymes. Amazing, I know.)
Last spring, I had the pleasure of working with this fun couple on the design for their wedding cake. Our bride had specific ideas for each tier — which I love!
Bottom Tier: The Bride’s Wedding Gown Lace Pattern.
Middle Tier: The Groom’s Tie Pattern.
Top Tier: Chocolate Branches for their nature theme.
They also wanted a “garden” of cupcakes topped with edible fresh flowers. Done!
I also added their wedding date on the back of the cake in icing. Cute!
Thanks to Reena Rose for the beautiful photographs!
Jen and Ken were very happy with the result — Check out what they had to say!
” Jenn went above and beyond what we were expecting for our wedding cake! We asked her to make the inside of our cake our wedding color: turquoise (which is a complicated color – not blue, not green) and she matched it perfectly! And wrote our wedding date “10.10.10” on the back of our cake. It was a lovely secret for only us to see when we cut the cake together. I especially cannot forget to mention the taste of our cake – moist and unique (it was champagne flavor). I don’t love sweets but not because it was our wedding cake but because it was the best cake I’ve ever had. Also including our cupcakes! ”
Congrats on your happy nuptials Jen and Ken!
Now what could they name their kids…?
(Len? Sven? BEN! Go with Ben!)
